(Windsor, ON) - Spitfires President and Head Coach Bob Boughner was on-hand, on behalf of the Windsor Spitfires Foundation, at a ceremony recognizing donors to the Windsor Youth Centre's Almost Home campaign earlier today.

By making a generous $25,000 donation toward the campaign goal of $500,000, the foundation assisted organizers in exceeding that target, raising more than $600,000 for the construction of a thoroughly renovated drop-in centre for at-risk youth in our city, at the site of the current Windsor Youth Centre at 1321 Wyandotte Street East.

“Although the foundation has supported many charitable and community service groups over the last several years, one of its prime objectives throughout has been assisting the young people of our region,” Boughner said. “So we're very proud to help provide a safe and nuturing environment for at-risk youth by supporting these much-needed upgrades to the Windsor Youth Centre.”

The foundation would also like to recognize The Stephanie & Barry Zekelman Foundation for its continued dedication to our community and support of causes like the Almost Home campaign.
